We're absolutely delighted to share that The Daily Echo - Southampton's local newspaper - have very kindly published a story about us today.
Their reporter Reece Barret spoke to our Managing Director Tom Bulpit to understand more about how our service works, and the very personal motivations for why our team came together to found our community counselling service.
The Empathy Project celebrates it's first birthday on 1st April 2025, 12 months after we launched our non-profit organisation on a tiny budget. Since then we've rapidly grown the size of our team (now 13 counsellors, support staff and volunteers) and took on a second therapy room in Ocean Village.
The Project delivers around 150 counselling sessions in Southampton per month, and has delivered 1,300 sessions to date. We provide confidential mental health therapy to adults, couples, families and children and young people aged 10 or over.
We'd like to thank Reece and his team for supporting us and helping us get our story out there.
